Fast growing; related to daikon radish, this forage radish sends down chunky roots that help penetrate hard pan soil. Ideally planted in the early fall, the foliage and roots will die off in the colder winter weather. That leaves the root to decay, ultimately leaving a pocket that aids in aeration of dense soil. The foliage also makes great wildlife and livestock feed. If planted in the spring, they tend to bolt fast and go to seed quickly, however still provide some benefit. Pack of at least 50 seeds, also available in 1/2 pound, 1 pound and 5 pound packages.
